Crymlyn Primary school is a Rights Respecting school!
School Council is a key part of ‘Pupil Voice’ within our school.
Our School Council is made up of one pupil from each year group from Year 2 to Year 6. The children serve a one year term of office. Their responsibilities include leading and minuting meetings.
The council meets regularly to make sure that the UNCRC Rights of the Child are celebrated in our school and to act as a ‘voice’ for the pupils they represent.
Our School Council has a big part to play in shaping the way that our primary school runs, deciding what we need to improve and helping the teachers, governors and parents to improve it. The council members are proactive in promoting safeguarding issues such as:
- e-safety
- Stranger Danger
- Sun safety
They regularly plan events to support local and national initiatives, for example NSPCC Fundraising, UNESCO Classroom in a box, where they raised over £2000.
