Wellbeing Champions

This year we are taking part in the Welsh Government Project – Whole School Approach to Mental and Emotional Wellbeing. As part of the project, we have two dedicated staff members (Mrs Henwood and Miss Harris) who are leading the project, which entails surveying the entire school community and our stakeholders. These surveys include: pupils, staff, parents and governors.

As part of the pupil feedback, we identified the need for pupils to have a voice when it came to their wellbeing. As a result Mrs Henwood led an initiative to establish our very first group of pupils to become our Wellbeing Champions.

The pupils had to prepare and give a speech, then their peers voted for their representatives who became part of the inaugural group. This group was established in the spring term 2024 and has met a few times already to establish priorities.
